Staying Free of the "Whatever Place"
By Becky Hunter, April 28, 2007
Earlier this week I was talking with a pastor’s wife who was frustrated about her circumstances. Understandable. However, her summary statement after 20 minutes of venting was more than a little disconcerting. She took a breath, looked at me a minute and then said, “Whatever.” Yikes! None of us can afford to stay in a “Whatever” place for very long. Every one of our challenges are opportunities for ministry. GPWN resources are meant to assist every pastors’ wife in seeing them that way.
If you need the kind of boost that can help you overcome “Whatever” syndrome, visit www.gpwn.tv for encouragement and hundreds of free resources. Additionally, if you are a senior pastor’s wife, one of the best events specifically for you is coming soon. Check out the Eighth Annual First Ladies Conference at www.loisevans.org. Dr. Lois Evans, event host, is the wife of Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship and she is the former president of GPWN and a current board member. The conference will be June 7 – 9 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Three GPWN board members will be among those presenting: Lois Evans, Devi Titus, and Rhoda Gonzales.
GPWN makes every effort to stay up-to-date on gatherings that can encourage and equip pastors’ wives. Check out upcoming events in the “Conferences” area on our website for details. If you are aware of great events for pastors’ wives not listed there, please help us help others. Email info@gpwn.tv and we will follow up on your suggested listing.
