You Can Do It

I’m in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It’s 8 degrees below zero outside, but its warm and wonderful in this hotel ballroom where Jill Briscoe has spoken to pastors’ wives who are attending the Just Between Us Conference. I wish you could be here to hear first hand every word she has spoken to us.
Jill’s wisdom, gleaned from a lifetime of walking with Jesus and intense study of God’s Word is absolutely awesome. Her life, her testimony, her ministry inspire everyone around her to “step up—never quit—because God is worthy of every investment we make in His name.”
When the questions came, “But, Jill, what if I’m tired?” Her response, “Then do it tired.”
“But Jill, what if I’m sick?” Her response, “Then do it sick.”
“But Jill, what if I’m ugly or old?” “Then do it ugly and old!”
Our God is sufficient. We don’t do ministry in our own strength, but in His. Deep down each of us knows that is what is going to bring the world to Jesus. So let me encourage you today as I have been encouraged. Don’t let tiredness, sickness, ugliness, age or anything prevent you from doing what God is calling you to do.
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation whether full or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.-Philippians 4:12-13
Remember to pray for pastors’ wives throughout our nation and the world when you sit down in your worship service each weekend. And rest assured that we are all praying for you!
