Steps Toward The Future

By Becky Hunter

I have wonderful news!

Global Pastors Wives Network was founded in 2003 by Dr. Vonette Bright, co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, International. She choose Dr. Lois Evans to preside over the network and its wonderful board. In 2006, Mrs. Bright called me to a three-year term of presidency and it has been an incredible privilege to serve YOU through this ministry. As my term comes to a close, it is with tremendous joy and enthusiasm that I join with Mrs. Bright and the GPWN board to welcome Devi Titus as our next president. The transition has begun and will be complete by January 2009.

You are going to love Devi Titus! You’ll never notice her stepping into the president’s shoes; you will notice her stepping into your heart!

Devi is among America’s recognized Christian conference speakers and authors. She first came to the attention of women nationwide in 1978 when she founded and edited Virtue magazine, a successful Christian alternative to secular women’s magazines. Virtue magazine for 22 years raised a standard of excellence for women’s lives and for that work, she was presented the Superior Performance Award by the Washington Press Women Association.

Devi draws from more than 40 years in the ministry as a pastor’s wife and addresses a wide range of topics to encourage women in every aspect of their personal and ministry lives. Her message to women is always relevant, often daring to say what others only think.

She is creator and author of THE HOME EXPERIENCE: Making Your Home a Sanctuary of Love and a Haven of Peace. She co-authored with her husband, Larry, When Leaders Live Together; both books are published by LivingSmart Resources. Devi is a contributing author of three books, Help! I’m a Pastor’s Wife, and How to Love your Husband, both published by Creation House and Free to Soar, published by Regal.

Devi Titus is a leader of leaders. She serves on the Board of Directors for the International Foursquare Church and has served on the Board of Directors for Global Pastor’s Wives Network since its beginning. Devi is the vice president of Kingdom Global Ministries and serves in an advisory capacity of several ministry organizations.

Her life’s passion is ministering to women. She founded The Mentoring Mansion. In a luxury home setting, eight women at a time spend four days with Devi and her team in a Home Mentoring Intensive on creative home management and vital relationship skills. The Mentoring Mansion is committed to restore the dignity and sanctity of the home in women’s values.

Devi has partnered with her husband, Pastor Larry Titus, to establish five churches. Retired from senior pastoral ministry, her husband now devotes his ministry to men, ministers, and missions through their organization, Kingdom Global Ministries and the Foursquare Church. They have two adult children, Trina Titus Lozano and Dr. Aaron P. Titus, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A “mother” to many, Devi and her husband, Larry, have had nearly 80 young men and women live in their home over their 43 years of marriage. Some were from prison or off the streets and others just coming to be disciples. “Follow me as I follow Christ” is the theme of their lives.

Devi will help us all celebrate and empower the call on our lives. She will affirm and motivate every wife of a pastor to connect worldwide to other pastors’ wives and will use GPWN’s ever expanding resources to empower each of us as we live daily in our call. You will be hearing from her soon.

I will continue to encourage you through this bi-weekly ezine over these next months, and along with you, will look forward to the next season of GPWN under the godly, excellent servant leadership of Devi Titus.

Join me in praying for Devi in her new role and let’s remember to pray for pastors’ wives around the world when we sit down in our worship services this weekend.

I absolutely love her book "Help, I'm a Pastor's Wife"!! As a young pastor's wife it has been a source of advise and comfort. It was given to me by seasoned pastor's wife and I truly treasure its advice. I am excited to be a new member of this fellowship, especially under Mrs. Titus leadership.
